He set up his synths so he could single-handedly play liveversions (in new improvised versions) of his famous hits and improvise somenew material. Sometimes the sound is a bit dry compared to his albums‚because of his determination to play everything himself‚ but it certainlyhas a special feeling about it. Vangelis' talent to variate on his melodiesin unexpected fashion was displayed here in full glory. The music included Pulstar‚ Missing‚ To The Unknown Man‚ Memories Of Green‚Bladerunner Lovetheme‚ Abraham's Theme‚ Hymne‚ Chariots of Fire and the Tao ofLove as well as some new material; most of which transformed gently into the nexttrack. At the end Vangelis came up with a totally restyled version of the famous "Singingin the rain"‚ which was one of the rare occasion were Vangelis plays music that wasnot composed by himself. He made it his own though by rearranging it‚ pushing itsflexibility to absolute limits. The sound quality in thisaudience-recorded bootleg is really quite awful‚ but the music playedby Vangelis is so utterly moving and beautiful‚ that you almost forgetits audio imperfections. All the versions of themes played here areslightly different than the recorded versions and Vangelis manages toadd enormous dimension amazing vitality to all of them.
