musics composed by VANGELIS From a performance at Amsterdam Netherlands April 2000
"The music composed for this ballet displays some fine examples ofVangelis‹musical tendencies in the later half of the 80‹s. The openingtrack is bombastic and full of fanfare while track three in contrastis a moving romantic piece. In any case despite moments ofVangelis‹signature synths (namely track 3) the music here is clearlycassical in it‹s sound. There is even a bouncing waltz which calls tomind Tchaikovsky. The quality of the recording may vary from release to release sincethere are various recordings of this ballet in circulation. The one Ihave is quite good. Only occasionally can one hear slight taps of thedancers. The disc could use some editing such as eliminating theclapping at the end of the disk which seems to go on forever. Nonetheless any Vangelis fan will find this music interesting."
Sebastian "This is a serious opus by a serious composer. This work is in some terms a good example of Vangelis style in the mid-eighties when hewas developing some difficult and not bery commercial music as if he was trying to run away from the image of a million seller he got with"Chariots of Fire". This music has a more "classical" orientation and is a really serious piece of music. Though it's quite short (Only 35minutes plus the encore) there are a good array of techniques and styles displayed here. I must say that the first three movements areall great: The first is boombastic and sets the mood for the rest of the play while the second goes in crecendo and beutifully shows theprocess of creation of the monster. The third one contains a very romantic theme one of the most beautiful themes of that period in Vangeliscareer. There are other really dark passages with atonal music and of course the biggest surprise is that waltz in part 6 played by the orchestrawhere Vangelis shows he can do whatever he tries to. A very interesting work indeed and one of the most important in his whole eighties period."

Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that. And he just bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thank you for lunch!
Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite justification appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people consider worries that they just do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more. Thanks

Of all the great Vangelis music that has been uncomprehensibly denied official release, this is the one I regret the most. I am a huge fan of this period of Vangelis and I only hope that one day we'll get a proper release from the masters. This music is needed in the world.
