Tracks 1-8 are unreleased studio outtakes from The Big Generatorsessions.
Tracks 9-13 are unreleased Jon & Vangelisdemos from 1986
"There are 13 tracks on this CD. Only five of them are unreleased tracks made by Jon and Vangelis. The other tracks are unreleased as well‚ but those five tracks are mostly interesting for Yes fans only. A release coming from Italy‚ really hard to find‚ with only 300 copies made. This CD makes me think of another bootleg‚ the "Another Page of Life" CD‚ made in 1998 and released through Highland Music. They're not exactly the same‚ but there are some similarities. First the unreleased tracks are recorded in the same order: "Let's Pretend"‚ "All Through The Night"‚ "Say What You Will"‚ "The Arms Of Love" and both CDs end with "Distant Thunder." Speaking of the soundquality of the J & V tracks on both CDs: I found them to be a bit noisy. All the tracks on Alternate Generator are cut different from Another Page. The tracks start with a fade in‚ maybe to avoid the noise at the beginning of the tracks.

The CD counts 76:49 minutes with music with most of the tracks being longer than seven minutes! Beware (!) the tracklisting is not accurate. As you can see from the scan track nine should be Let's Pretend‚ but in stead of that it is a nice three minutes long synth song. Now you can hear the how poor the soundquality is. Played loud‚ the higher tones make my speakers shiffer. Those higher tones are not recorded very well‚ but they don't irritate me.

Let me take away a little misunderstanding. As you can see at the scan‚ the red CD says "live". But it isn't. All the tracks are studio recordings‚ just like the backcover says. My final conclusion is that this CD is not to be ignored by Yes and Jon Anderson fans. But for Vangelis fans there is that other CD. Another Page of Life is much easier to find and has "Open Up" in stock. In general‚ my opinion is a positive one. This CD provides fans of Vangelis and Yes a great time. But‚ once again‚ I think this rare European release will give Yes fans the most pleasure. "
