"This release boasts a lot‚ especially with a name like "Themes III‚"where it equates itself to its high-quality predecessors. However‚it's far from them. This home-made release is composed of an extensivearray of music‚ mostly taken off the (fake) OWM series. Many trackshave the infamous OWM reverb and looping. Most appalling however‚ itthe bootlegger's questionable taste in choosing music for this release.Track number 3‚ taken from the OWM "Sauvage et Beau" is looped and hasdialog. There are many other tracks on that release that are moreinteresting and avoid dialog. (I.e tracks 5‚ 8 11 and 16 of S et B) Track number 22 of this release‚ says it's from "Beauty and the BeastSuite" but parts of it hail from "Frankenstein - Modern Prometheus." Inany case there are some redeemable inclusions here‚ such as exerps from"Sex Power‚" "Race Against Time‚" and "River's Journey‚ that do notappear on any OWM release. These tracks are the only reason to botherwith "Themes III." Let's hope the next "Themes" bootleg relies moreon quality than quantity."
Sebastian "OK‚ so some Vangelis lover who owns the whole OWM Series plus some otherrareties‚ and even a couple of Documentary videos‚ had the kind idea ofcompiling some of the main tracks of those for us. I understand thisrelease has too little to offer to the experienced collector‚ but as abeginner I must say: "Thanks!". Thanks because now I know that I don'tneed to get "De Nuremberg a Nuremberg" or "Ace Up My Sleeve". Thanks forshowing me the meaning of looping on tracks like "Oriental Dance" or"Rivers Journey". And thank you for I find the most part of the tracksbeautiful or interesting. "Themes 2" was better structured and wassomewhat a more consistent release‚ but I see this as a Vangelis "WhiteAlbum"‚ and I think that any beginner will thank this kind of VangelisSoundtracks Encyclopedia‚ before going any further. When I have a morecomplete collection I'll review it again and then I'll be tougher‚ Ipromise."
