This is an interesting expamle although I think it to be an extreme one. A ship at sea is quite a bit different than today's world of offices and manufacturing building settings. Emotional leadership requires the ability to know and respect your people well enough to help break difficult situations into smaller manageable components leading to successful completion. Both the Mutiny on the Bounty and the Caine Mutiny are expamles of leaders with personality defficiencies coupled with the inability to manage through emotional triggers at hand. For the crews of the Bounty and Caine, the objective of the mission at hand was not worth the price (their lives) and led to their eventual behavior. Also, a lot of the issue was the contained environment there was an inability to get away from the situation aboard a ship.Today's extreme expamle is workplace violence which is much more likely to be an employee personality issue and their inability to deal with an emotional trigger at hand. This extreme is why today's leaders have to know their people well and be comfortable talking through the difficult situations at hand to prevent the perception of being an overwhelming problem.
